Gavin Rouble has been our business coach since January of this year. Martina and I have been clinic owners for almost six years and, while feeling very satisfied with our skills as veterinarians, have never felt like we were in any way effective as being "bosses" or actually having any control over the future of our clinic.

After years of owning my franchise and not getting out of it anywhere near
what I put in, I was feeling fed up. I no longer felt that I had
control over my business and the results I was getting. I knew a
number of things weren't working or working well but wasn't sure how
to fix them. I also didn't feel I had the resources to make the
changes that other franchises were making.
Then Gavin and I began working together through the FocalPoint coaching
program. After the first few sessions Gavin helped me focus in on
where I needed to prioritize my time, energy, and money to get the
highest return for myself and my goals. Then, taking me through the
process of identifying small, incremental changes that could be made
in my daily operations and sales processes to surpass my revenue
expectations, Gavin helped me to actually believe I could accomplish
what we were speaking about.
The clincher, however, was the coaching sessions we had where we created
a step by step plan on how to actually achieve these changes. Proof
in point - the simple fact that I was able to take time away from my
store and place someone else in charge successfully for the first
time ever was worth every cent of the coaching fee. I can now
confidently leave my business knowing that I won't spend the two
weeks following my time away putting out fires, solving problems, and
regretting taking any time off at all!
The support that Gavin provides, whether it is a question about where I
should set my prices or a concern over the number of hours that I
work, is invaluable. For the first time, I can see where I want to
end up and know HOW I can get there. I just wish I had started with
my coach sooner!

Before beginning to work with Gavin, my business partner and I were facing numerous challenges in our business. The greatest challenge for me was that I was spread far too thin. Being a socially active entrepreneur, I had many different initiatives and activities happening at the same time and all requiring my energy and attention. This was in addition to running the business. However, working with Gavin has moved me forward tremendously in terms of gaining clarity over my life and how my business and non-business activities fit in.
